Bulman RNLI Swim – Sunday, May 14th.

Thanks to Donna Galvin and Eoin O’Riordan for scheduling this perfectly timed qualifier for our RNLI swim on June 10 ūüėČ



Apologies, but we had to move the swim to Sunday due to conflicting schedules in the harbour.

Registration @ 4.30pm
Registration closes @ 5pm, no exceptions.
Swim from Bulman Slip to Kinsale Marina Slip, 1800m. Cut off time is 1 hour.

There will be no entries accepted on the day, online entries to register only.

The swim will be divided into 2 or 3 waves, please follow instructions given at the safety briefing.

Kinsale Yacht Club have allowed swimmers access to the showers after 6.30pm only. This is on the condition that all the junior sailors have finished with the showers, so please follow instructions by the Yacht Club and volunteers.

Prize Giving in Kinsale Yacht Club @ 7pm.

Entries are coming in steadily and with lots of people now getting 1,500m+ done in the sea, make sure to get yours in for June 10th as well.  The swim is now an event of the Cork Harbour Festival and will take place on the same day as the Ocean to City Race.

The 2017 RNLI Myrtleville to Church Bay (entrance to Cork Harbour) 2km open water sea swim will take place on Saturday, June 10th at 5.00pm. 

Participants must have submitted their entry online.  We can’t accept entries on the day.

A mere five months and it’ll be time for the RNLI Myrtleville to Church Bay Swim, 2017 – at 5pm on Saturday, June 10th.

Here’s a lovely bit of work by Denis Condon and Anne Sheehy, to remind you why it’s worth training for this highlight of the swimming calendar.

Courtmacsherry Lifeboat Swim: August 13, 2016

The 6th Annual Courtmacsherry Lifeboat Swim takes place at Blind Strand, near the picturesque fishing village of Courtmacsherry at 1.00 pm on Saturday, August 13th. Courtmacsherry is a 45 minute drive from the Bandon Road roundabout.  The swim will be well sign posted from the village.  Please leave plenty of time for parking and registration (by 12.15 at the latest). The safety briefing will take place at 12.45pm.

The swim course starts on the beach at Blind Strand and proceeds anti-clockwise around 2 markers. 

Participants can choose between 1 lap (1.5K) or 2 laps (3K). Swimmers who elect to do 2 laps will run/walk a short distance on the beach prior to starting lap 2. Courtmac swim

The Courtmacsherry volunteers will provide soup and sandwiches for all participants and volunteers. This year I am delighted to announce that we have new sponsors for the event.  IT@Cork Skillnet will be providing the first 100 swimmers registered with a generous goody bag.  Really nice gift inside each one.

All proceeds from the swim go to the Courtmacsherry Lifeboat and Swim Ireland membership is not required.

Rebel Plunge Swim – June 9th, 7pm.

The Active link is available to book into the Rebel Plunge Swim, on Thursday June 9th @ 7pm.

This Inaugural Event is taking place in conjunction with Cork Harbour Festival Week (Ocean to City).

  • The 3.8km swim will start from Blackrock village (Cork Boat Club Slip) and finish on the Pontoon by the Port of Cork.
  • It will be run on an incoming tide.
  • We have finger food arranged for afterwards (as it’s a weeknight!).
  • When you sign up you will be asked for your 2km time and that you can complete the 3.8km in under 1hr45min.
  • Early Bird price ends soon, please sign up asap – we do have a limit on entries, so don’t wait until last minute (and¬†NO entries allowed on the day – no matter who you know!).
  • You do not have to be a Swim Ireland Club Member to Enter.¬†Wetsuit/Skins both welcome.
  • Ideal for triathletes training for Ironman etc.
