A great crowd of almost forty swimmers to send off the Mondays for 2014. Fantastic to see that despite all of the camaraderie of the year, when it came right down to the end we were still as split as an old fashioned Céilí…
Girls on one side…..
Boys on d’udder side.
None of the Mondays would be the same without Siobhan’s photographs. I’m sure her dedication and output of pictures is unmatched anywhere in the outdoor swimming world. So, last picture from the Mondays has to have her in front of the lens. Thanks, Siobhan.
Gary, Siobhan, Harry & canine colleagues.
Swim Safe. Never swim alone – but do keep swimming! It’s not cold in January. Really.
It’s been a great year but the last Monday night is next week, the 20th. This was some of the crew for the second last night..
Second last Monday night of 2014.
This was where we started, on April 2nd. Denis starting in togs.
Three from the first Monday of 2014.
The last Mondays of previous years haven’t been too well attended…
Last Monday of 2013 – just three swimmers – Tom McCarthy, Bernard Lynch & John Russell – with Denis Condon: 21/10/2013
Last Monday night Myrtleville swims: 22 October, 2012
So, let’s see what we get next Monday. I’m missing it so I’m fed up already.
Hard to believe it’s over for another year. We had a huge increase in numbers for Myrtleville Mondays this year, but there was only a hard core left, on a bad night for the last one.
Last Monday of 2013 – just three swimmers – Tom McCarthy, Bernard Lynch & John Russell – with Denis Condon: 21/10/2013.
Anne Sheehy brought her camera and got a couple of pictures. I think she was using the Siobhan Russell Technique for rough days (“No, I’m not going in there – someone has to take the pictures…..on you go, the rest of you……and remember to smile for the camera…..”).
Tom McCarthy braves the waves – 21/1o/2013.
John Russell & Bernard Lynch – it does look a bit lumpy…21/10/2013.
See you all on Monday, March 31, 2014. Only 160 Days to go 🙂
After two great performances in The Lost Sheep at the weekend, Conor and Ronan were feeling invincible and went for the water in togs for a relaxing dip. A few shivers afterwards though….
Ironmen – the McCarthy brothers throw off the wetsuits.
Still lots of groups going out all evening, although there’s definitely a clear split in this picture.
Suits on the left, togs on the right.
The fourth separate group heading out on Monday – busy beach.
Siobhan is always stuck behind the camera, but just couldn’t take any more last night..
That’s enough pictures of Michelle – I’M getting in this one – Siobhan grabs her place.
The RNLI Myrtleville to Church Bay on Sept. 21st is next up – more details on this site over the coming week.
