Lee Swim (excuse for Hat pics)

With over 500 entries, the Lee Swim is becoming a phenomenon. It was a fantastic event on Saturday, with lots of Myrtlevillains involved and enjoying the day out. Of course, the Hat was there.

Siobhan – proud of her participant mug and hat.

Well done to all the participants and the organisers – it’s a huge undertaking and runs like clockwork.  A great advert for Cork and OWS.

Still warm(ish) in February

The sea temperature remained over 8ºc for the weekend and is at 8.3ºc this morning – we can’t complain for February 🙂

Swimming at 4.30pm today and Thursday, with 08.15 on Saturday.

As a reminder of really warm water, here’s a great video of the Lee Swim last year.  It’s very well done, with lots of familiar faces.

And here’s something a bit older.

Lee Swim – Red Drive challengers

It’s getting busy around Myrtleville these days.  Several of the determined group preparing for the Lee Swim Red Drive Challenge were at the beach on Friday and Saturday. The water has gone back up over 10℃, so the pool to sea transition is going well. Aisling Barry sent this picture of some of the group.
