A limited number of places are starting to become available for June 21st.  That’s likely to increase as we move closer to the date and people cancel due to other commitments etc.  As a place comes available, it is automatically offered to the next person on the waiting list – FIFO.  You have 12 hours to accept your offered place.  If you do not, the place is offered to the next person on the list.  It is vital that you keep an eye on the email address you used to join the waiting list.  If you miss the email and thus miss an offered place, you will be dropped from the waiting list.  You can join it again, but you will be at the bottom.

Note also that as we move closer to the 21st, we will shorten the time allowed to accept a place.

Buckets will be shaken for donations next Monday, April 10, from 10.30 – to make up our funding shortfall for 2023 and maybe 2024. Funds raised are to cover costs for the maintenance and replacement of buoys and the purchase and setup of the new defibrillator, which exceed the amount of County Council grants annually.

It was this weekend last year that we sold out the 300 places for the Myrtleville to Church Bay Swim. We added 50 places for 2023 but with 313 sold, we now have just 37 left. If you’re planning to swim on June 21st, entry is advised.

I’m glad we were able to add the extra fifty places this year, as demand remains high. We have 58 places left. The last fifty sold out very fast last year, but hopefully the extra places will allow anyone interested to get a spot for the swim this year. Having said that, if you’re planning to enter, it might be worth doing it soon.
