All six buoys have been serviced with new chains, ropes and shackles needed for several. They get quite a battering out there all year! We’ll claim back our Amenity Grant from Cork County Council of of €1,965 – with thanks. The bulk of the costs is then funded from the – unfortunately cancelled – Myrtleville to Church Bay Swim.

Is there some way that swimmer’s can donate towards the cost of maintenance of the bouys, They are so important and give swimmers in MV a great peace of mind when swimming.

Hold that thought, Aidan! We are likely to have to fundraise in 2026 as we will not be getting a Grant (only avaiable for three years, which we have reached) and will need funds to keep them in the sea.
